A TRANSPORTATION microcosmos can be found at Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium this weekend.

Today and tomorrow thousands of model enthusiasts from across NSW will converge on the stadium for the 1999 Our Town Model Show.

Presented by the Our Town HO Model Railway Club, the event will feature a vast array of trains, planes and automobiles.

Radio-controlled model boats will not be left out, with a large water tank set up inside the stadium.

As well as enjoying a range of static displays, model enthusiasts will also have the chance for some hands-on fun thanks to a big collection of slot-cars and U-drive model train sets.

Helping set up the show yesterday, club member Col Bartley, of Adamstown, said the expo would include exhibits from the Wentworth Falls-based Task Force 72 club, which builds highly detailed replicas of Royal Australian Navy vessels, often worth thousands of dollars each.
